Wild & Immersive Wilderness Adventure Camp Registration Ages 9-12

We will notify a parent/guardian when a child is ill or needs medical attention. In the event we cannot contact you and we need to get immediate help for your child, we require consent to do so.

1. I give consent for my child to be taken to the nearest emergency medical centre by ambulance when I cannot be contacted.
2. I give consent for my child to receive first aid treatment only by those certified to do so.

If your child is participating in our programs, and their behavior is a safety issue, or is behaving in a way that prohibits the learning of others in the program, you acknowledge that you may be required to pick up your child early from the program. In the event we are unable to get a hold of you, you consent to your Emergency Contact (as indicated on this form) being contacted for pickup. While we make every effort to work with families and behaviors, you acknowledge that your child may be dismissed for the remainder of the program depending on the severity of the behavior.

Registration Confirmation: Registration is first-come-first-serve and based on available space. Submitting a registration does not guarantee a space in camp. You will receive an email to confirm your space with a link for payment. Your space is secured once payment has been made.

Maximum Weeks: In order to allow for the best experience for all participants, and to avoid redundancies, participants are only able to register for a maximum of 2 summer camps weeks.

Payment: Payment is due in full once the payment link has been sent out. Failure to receive payment will result in the registration being cancelled.

Cancellation Policy: A lot of preparation and effort goes into planning our events. Registration can be cancelled with a minimum of 1-month notice and a refund will be issued minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations with a minimum of 14 days notice will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than 14 days notice will not receive a refund. If Wild & Immersive has to cancel the camp, a full refund will be issued. T-shirt purchases are non-refundable.

Acknowledgement of Risk Form: A Participant Information and Acknowledgement of Risk form must be filled out by each participant and signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian. Any registrants who do not submit this form will not be able to attend camp.

Illness Policy: There is zero tolerance for any child attending camp while sick or exhibiting any cold or flu like symptoms. If you child is ill, do not send them to camp. If your child develops symptoms while at camp, they will be separated from the group and sent home.

Location:  The 9-12 summer camp will take place at the front gate of the research forest, as well as Marion Lake (6km within the forest). For the times they are at Marion Lake, participants will be shuttled to the location using our 15-passenger van. The 15-passenger van is driven by a licensed class 4 driver. All participants must have a signed transportation form.

What to Bring: Please be prepared! Events are outdoors and run in all weather conditions (unless the weather is a safety concern ie: winds, lightning). Please make sure all participants have appropriate clothing and footwear for all weather conditions (ie: waterproof clothing, running shoes, hiking shoes and/or boots, gloves, hats, and a change of clothes for after the activities). Inappropriate clothing and footwear may result in the participant sitting out.

Lunch is provided only on the Friday. Please ensure your child has a lunch (nut free), snacks and water for all other days, and snacks and water for the Friday. Please ensure you let us know of any dietary restrictions during registration.

Electronics and Personal Toys: Electronics and personal toys are prohibited at Wild & Immersive camps. If it is necessary for the child to have an electronic for safety reasons (ie: a cell phone), it must stay in the child’s bag during camp activities.

Arriving for Camp: Drop off and pick up will be at the main gate area of the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest. When arriving, park in the public parking lot and walk past the gate approximately 100m towards the Wild & Immersive Cabin. The Wild & Immersive check in area will be to the left of the main road. Please avoid walking on the road.

Early Arrivals/ Late Departures: Camps start at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm. Please make arrangements for your child to be dropped off and picked up at these times. Children may arrive 5 minutes prior to camp start, but there is no supervision past 3:00pm. Children picked up late (past 3:10pm) will be charged for staffing supervision costs.

Participation and Behavior: The safety of each individual at the camp is of the utmost importance. Any behavior of the registrant that places him/herself or others at risk may result in the registrant’s immediate dismissal from the program. If dismissed from the program, the parent/guardian accepts any costs associated with the dismissal. No refund will be granted for any registrant who is dismissed from a camp. Refunds will not be granted to registrants who refuse to participate in the programs.
