Research Activities During the COVID19 Pandemic

The Malcolm Knapp Research Forest is currently closed for all non-essential activities.

Field research is allowed on a case-by-case basis. UBC guidelines for research can be found here: https://research.ubc.ca/covid-19-curtailing-research-activities-ubc-campuses. Please read the entire document, and pay special attention to the “FIELDWORK” paragraph.

UBC researchers that want to apply for an exemption, can use the form found at: https://research.ubc.ca/sites/research.ubc.ca/files/vpri/Exemption_Form.pdf. Once the exemption is obtained, please forward a copy to Ionut Aron, Research Coordinator, at ionut.aron@ubc.ca.

Non-UBC researchers that want to conduct field work at Malcolm Knapp Research Forest need to submit a COVID19 safety plan with answers and explanations to the FIELDWORK guidelines from the link above to Ionut Aron, Research Coordinator, at ionut.aron@ubc.ca.

Thank you for your understanding.
